When speaking to anyone who watches the NFL, most would venture to say that Patrick Mahomes is the best player in the league. But in NFL Network's Top 100 list, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback came in as the fourth-best player in the NFL. Shortly after it was revealed he was at No. 4, Mahomes shared his simple reaction to the ranking on Twitter.

Before Wednesday night's unveiling of the top 10 players on NFL Network, it was believed that Mahomes would earn the No. 1 spot. Instead of Mahomes, Lamar Jackson was named the No. 1 player in the league in a list that is voted on by the players in the NFL.

Not only did Mahomes not earn the No. 1 spot, but he was also named the third-best quarterback according to the list. Besides Jackson, Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks was ahead of Mahomes on the list. In addition to that, Aaron Donald — who deserves a top spot — was listed ahead of Mahomes for the second consecutive season.

Of course, Patrick Mahomes was able to put together a spectacular year for the Chiefs in 2019. Despite missing two games, the fearless quarterback finished with 4,031 yards, 26 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Above all, he led Kansas City to the franchise's first Super Bowl victory since 1969.

Even though he's been a starter for just two seasons, most fans and the media alike believe Mahomes is the best player at the most important position in football. His spot on the NFL Top 100 list certainly doesn't determine his actual on-field success. Patrick Mahomes appears to be motivated to prove his peers wrong in the upcoming season.
