Lamar Jackson and Justin Tucker did their thing for the Baltimore Ravens, but they scored with just enough time left to give the Las Vegas Raiders a chance to respond. Daniel Carlson answered the bell with a 55-yard field goal with two seconds left in regulation, sending the Monday Night Football opener into overtime, tied at 27.

The game is the first regular-season NFL game in Las Vegas in which fans are allowed to attend. The Raiders' inaugural season in Vegas was played in an empty Allegiant Stadium due to the coronavirus pandemic. This was the Silver and Black's first chance to give Vegas fans a taste of the NFL's thrills and excitement.

The game has exceeded all expectations. The Raiders and Ravens traded punches all night long, and Vegas has already shown — much as it did last year when it nearly swept the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs — that it has the potential to play the best teams in the NFL on even terms.

The Ravens entered this game against the Raiders with noticeable limitations. They began their regular season after a brutal offseason in which several different running backs absorbed season-ending injuries, forcing the team to sign several new running backs in an attempt to find a patchwork crew in the backfield alongside Lamar Jackson. Baltimore hopes that Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP, can rebound from a difficult 2020 season in which he took a step backward.

The Ravens did make the divisional round of last season's playoffs, but their offense died in a loss to the Buffalo Bills. This game against the Raiders is a first attempt to restore the 2019 standard of play which carried them to a 14-win season and the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs.
