The Oakland Raiders are on a long road trip that will see them traverse the pond and play in front of English fans. Fortunately, they are doing just fine after pulling off an impressive victory against the Indianapolis Colts.

Head coach Jon Gruden, for one, could not hide his delight at how his team performed. He didn't flower his speech when he talked about how proud he was of the boys after the game.

“I’m as proud of this win as any one I’ve ever had before,” Gruden said after the game, per Silver and Black Pride.

It was a fantastic showing for everyone involved. Derek Carr was efficient from the pocket. Zach Pascal led the receiving corps with 72 receiving yards while Chester Rogers, Eric Ebron, and Jack Doyle all got touchdowns.

However, the biggest hero for Oakland fans was one Erik Harris, whose 30-yard interception helped secure the victory for the Raiders.

Gruden shared why this win meant a lot to him and his boys:

“There’s a lot of difficult things that we’ve gone through,” said Gruden. “You show up here today and the guy you’re counting on to play the Z position doesn’t play, your middle backer gets thrown out . . . your right guard goes in [to the locker room], your right tackle goes in, there’s a lot of reasons to fold your tent. There’s a lot of reasons to start making excuses, but our guys, they’re really resilient and they’re tough mentally, and those are components I think that are going to serve us well as we try to build out team. I’m really proud of these guys.”

They will be off to England in high spirits. The fans at home hope that they can continue this good form on the other side of the Atlantic.
