There's always something about the Las Vegas Raiders, huh. Despite making major splashes in the offseason, the team just couldn't shake the stench of controversy from them. Earlier in the month, they got involved in a controversy after firing president Dan Ventrelle. Now, new reports reveal more issues from the team.
A report by the New York Times showcased the dysfunction sowed by owner Mark Davis inside the Raiders. Here's a snippet from the investigative article.
“There were, they said, lax controls over how money was spent and how people were paid and even the bungling of the payment of its taxes over several years. Not long after its move, the team missed a payment for the electric bill in its temporary office, forcing the lights to be shut off.”
Some former Raiders employees also revealed that anyone who spoke out about the issues were swiftly given the boot.

That's not a good sign for the Raiders. The organization has been riddled with issues for a long time now, despite numerous exposes by third-parties. This latest article is just another story to the unfortunately long list of issues within the franchise.
At the very least, fans are hoping that this organizational issue won't spill onto the field. The Raiders have a promising core this season, signing the likes of Davante Adams and Chandler Jones to bolster the team. It would be a shame for this team to fall flat due to issues beyond the players' control.
