The Las Vegas Raiders' disappointing season continued in Week 15, as they lost 31-0 to the Philadelphia Eagles. They had a few things working against them in this one, as Geno Smith was ruled out with a shoulder injury, which led Kenny Pickett to come in as the starter against his former team.
It did not go in his favor, as the offense couldn't get anything going. On defense, they weren't able to stop the Eagles, and they got whatever they wanted in the passing game. Despite the bad loss, head coach Pete Carroll still believes that his team did everything they could to compete, and after the game, he had a fiery speech about them not quitting.
“They fought their ass off. That was the result… I have nothing but wins and background and history to set our expectations and maintain the standards that we work by. And that’s what we’re doing. We’re still doing it… They’re doing all we’re asking of them and this is the result of it against the world champs last year,” Carroll said.

The rant sounded good, but there are some who were not buying anything that Carroll was saying.
“Pete Carroll says week after week that the players are doing their jobs. If he says they’re not, then it falls on him and the coaching staff. He is the great deflector,” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“I hope they fire him. This team needs some fire and passion. He was never the right fit for this team. Another garbage season,” another user wrote.
The thought was that when Carroll took the job, he was going to turn things around, especially when adding a few pieces to the team in the offseason. Unfortunately, much of the same has happened for the Raiders, similar to the past few seasons, and it feels like they're stuck.
