Oakland Raiders rookie defensive end Arden Key is confident that their defense can produce results without Khalil Mack. Key, who was selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of LSU, will be one of the host of players Raiders fans hope can contribute to filling the massive hole Mack left on defense.

“I feel like all our D-ends can rush the passer, as you can see in the preseason,” rookie defensive end Arden Key said per Matt Schneidman of the East Bay Times. “We got Bruce Irvin and Frostee Rucker, who have been there before, who can help us young guys to get more sacks, pressures and whatnot. Other than that, we got to grind on the D-line. I believe everybody is capable of having sacks.”

At 6-foot-5 and 238 lbs, Key is a physical specimen that can compete at a high level given time. Regardless, multiple players will have to step up for the Raiders. Mack accounted for over 30 percent of the team's sacks last season and demanded an overwhelming amount of attention from the offensive lines of opposing teams.

It'll take a group effort for the Raiders to not drop to the bottom of the league in sack production this year. They didn't exactly have a lot of depth at pass rusher last season behind Mack and Irvin, something that will obviously have to change now that Mack is gone.

The Raiders need to figure things out fast as they approach their Week 1 matchup against the powerhouse offense of the Los Angeles Rams. Jared Goff and Todd Gurley will make things hard for them through the air and on the ground.
