Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin doesn't want the team's woes going to places it shouldn't. According to him, if you have issues with anything on the defensive side of the football, you should talk to him.
In response to the Lions playing with less than the 11 allotted players last weekend, Teryl Austin took the brunt of the blame in an effort to get some heat off head coach Jim Caldwell.

But the bottom line is I’m in charge of the defense. What I put out there, whether they played well, played poorly, have enough, don’t have enough, at the end of the day that falls back on me because I’m in charge of that side of the ball. And so that’s something I’ve got to get fixed. And it will be fixed.”
For what it is worth, the Lions lining up without at least 11 men has happened two different times this season. Last Sunday, Detroit had nine guys go play defense, and before that, back on the Thanksgiving Day game, there was a play in which only 10 guys were on the field.
Maybe they are of the believe less is more?
