The Los Angeles Rams had a great Week 8 win over the Houston Texans. They won by a score of 38-22, which is somewhat misleading as all of the Texans' points came in the fourth quarter in garbage time.
The Rams sit at 7-1 on the season and made a shocking move following their win by trading for superstar pass rusher Von Miller. He makes the squad even more of a threat in the NFC and will be in contention for a Super Bowl.
Here are three Rams takeaways from their explosive Week 8 win over the Texans.
3. Cooper Kupp is a top receiver
Kupp has had a phenomenal season, leading the NFL in multiple receiving categories. Heading into the season, Kupp was expected to be the number one or number two receiver on the Rams, but after his dominant showing so far, he has solidified himself as the top WR. Kupp has even become one of the best in the entire league. Against the Texans, he had seven receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown.
He torched the Texans' secondary and has been doing the same thing to every team the Rams have faced. On the season, Kupp has 63 receptions for 924 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has put up these insane numbers in only eight games. He has definitely made a name for himself.
2. Matthew Stafford is an MVP candidate
Stafford spent his entire career with the Detroit Lions before the trade to the Rams this season. He has always put up good numbers but never got the recognition since he was on a bad team. Stafford is having a great first season with the Rams, leading them to 7-1, which is tied for the best record in the NFL.

The veteran signal-caller has thrown for 2,477 yards along with 22 touchdowns and only four interceptions. Stafford had another great game against the Texans, throwing for 305 yards and three touchdowns. Look for him to continue having a great season and make a run at the MVP award.
1. Rams are a Super Bowl Contender
The Rams have started the season on fire and they don't look like they will be stopping soon. They steamrolled through the Texans in the first three quarters before putting in backup players in the fourth quarter. The combination of an elite defense and tactical offense is hard to find in the NFL, but the Rams have it. They have also added Miller, who will only make their pass rush even more fierce.
Moving on from Jared Goff and adding Stafford has proven to be well worth the haul of draft picks. He is playing at a high level and has elevated the Rams offense to a nearly unstoppable group. The pairing of the offense and defense is a nightmare for opposing teams to strategize against as it is hard to find a weakness on this Rams team.
Next week, they take on the Tennessee Titans, who will be without Derrick Henry. While the Titans are without their star running back, this game will still be a good test for the Sean McVay-led Rams.
Look for them to make a deep run in the NFL Playoffs and make a push for the Super Bowl.
