On a tear and not looking to slow down anytime soon, Cooper Kupp is on the verge of having one of the most historic seasons in NFL history. As he pursues Calvin Johnson's single-season record for receiving yards, all eyes will be on Kupp as he aims to surpass another all-time great in Week 18.

With all this working in his favor, it does leave us to ponder towards next season and think of the player who could break all of Kupp's receiving records from this year. So as we dive deeper into this subject matter, we'll now take an in-depth look at the five players who could break Kupp's receiving records in 2022.

Ja'Marr Chase

Already having posted 1,429 receiving yards to go along with 13 touchdowns and 79 receptions on the season while averaging just over 18 yards per catch, Ja'Marr Chase has had a historic rookie year and will only get better with time. His on-field chemistry with LSU Tigers and Cincinnati Bengals teammate Joe Burrow has created a match-up nightmare for opposing defenses on a weekly basis and turned the Bengals into one of the most explosive offensive units in the NFL.

If he's able to keep up with this level of play next season, then he'll be breaking Kupp's receiving records in no time and set a new standard of excellence at the position. If there's a player out here with the intangibles to surpass Kupp in every statistical category for receiving then it's definitely Chase.

Justin Jefferson

With 2,758 receiving yards and counting through his first two seasons in the NFL, Justin Jefferson has already made a killing on the receiving front. This is especially true after he broke fellow LSU alum Odell Beckham Jr.'s receiving record in Week 16 against Kupp and the Rams. There seems to be something about these LSU guys who seamlessly make a transition to the pros and continue to dominate on a weekly basis.

Now that Jefferson has established himself as one of the premier wideouts in the league, it'll only be a matter of time before he's breaking Kupp's receiving records and lighting up the stat sheet with record-setting numbers of his own. So come next season be on the lookout for Jefferson to reach more career milestones.

Davante Adams

He's the no. 1 wideout for the Packers and has always been a reliable deep threat and versatile presence in Green Bay's passing game. Davante Adam's has been top five in NFL receiving yards all year long and has been playing at a Pro Bowl level for the Packers in every game this season. His clutch playmaking, speed, and endurance have paid major dividends for the Pack while allowing him to post big numbers all season long.

If Adams can continue to be a scoring machine and top-notch receiver throughout all of next season as well, then it won't be long before he does the unthinkable and breaks Kupp's receiving records in every statistical category. Whether he winds up playing in Green Bay or not next season is still to be determined, but Adams will always play the game at an elite level regardless of which jersey he's wearing.

Tyreek Hill

For the past few years, Tyreek Hill has been Patrick Mahomes' go-to-guy in the Chiefs' high-powered offensive attack and as he's in the midst of another season receiving for well over 1,000 yards, Hill is bound to continue making leaps and bounds in their passing game in the 2022 NFL season. As the fastest player in the league and a merely impossible cover, Hill can certainly do it all for Kansas City and in due time he could be re-writing the record books and overtaking everything that Kupp has achieved this season.

During the 2022-23 NFL season, Hill will be in prime position to overtake Kupp as the receiving king of the league and rule with an iron fist while leading all wideouts in touchdowns, receptions, and receiving yards all season long. If there's a player in this league capable of elevating their play and setting records in the process, then Hill is the undisputed man for the job.

Deebo Samuel

As the swiss army knife for the San Francisco 49ers, Deebo Samuel has proven himself as one of the most versatile offensive players in the league this season. Whether he's coming out of the backfield or catching a 50-yard bomb downfield, Samuel's value to the 49ers is truly unmatched. On the receiving front, he's kept pace with some of the best receivers in the NFL even with Kyle Shanahan utilizing his skillsets in a multitude of ways.

If San Francisco is able to get its running backs consistently healthy next year, then Samuel may have himself a career-year in the 49ers passing game and set a ton of scoring and receiving records and eventually surpass Kupp's records. With Samuel being a do-it-all type of player for the 49ers, his ability to excel in their aerial assault will enable him to have a historic NFL season in 2022.
