The Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers are preparing to play in a new, shared NFL stadium in 2020. As both teams head into the NFL offseason, the new Los Angeles stadium is ‘more than 85 percent complete'.
In a letter to fans, Rams' COO Kevin Demoff said that roof panel and seat installations are getting underway. Along with the stadium, the Rams are planning on unveiling a new set of logos and colors for the team's uniforms and helmets.
Earlier in the season, it was announced that the new venue would be named SoFi Stadium. Everything is shaping up to be a bit different for both the Rams and Chargers in 2020.
Since 2016, the Rams have been playing a majority of their home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum until the new stadium in Inglewood, California is completed. Therefore, last Sunday's contest versus the Arizona Cardinals was the last game that the Rams would play at the Coliseum.
Article Continues BelowAs for the Chargers, they've been playing their home games at Dignity Health Sports Park since 2017. The stadium is primarily utilized by the Los Angeles Galaxy of the Major League Soccer league.
The Chargers played in their final home game at Dignity Health Sports Park against the Oakland Raiders in Week 16. Unlike the Rams, the Chargers were unable to give their home crowd a proper send-off in Philip Rivers' possible last game with the franchise.
There's no doubt that both the Rams and Chargers will look a bit different next season in the NFL. Above all, both teams will have a new place to call home when SoFi Stadium is done being built sometime in 2020.
