The Los Angles Rams (11-3) look like the team to beat in the NFL right now, but one loss to the Seattle Seahawks (11-3) could greatly complicate their path to the Lombardi Trophy. Needless to say, the stakes are high in Thursday night's NFC West battle. The question that fans on both sides want to know is if Davante Adams will be able to take the field. The three-time All-Pro wide receiver missed Tuesday's practice, per Tacoma News Tribune's Gregg Bell, and is trending in the wrong direction.
Adams aggravated his hamstring injury in last Sunday's 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions, so the likelihood of him playing four days later should be quite slim. However, Rams head coach Sean McVay has left open the possibility of the six-time Pro Bowler suiting up in Seattle. Adams will have to make significant progress on Wednesday if he has any realistic chance of earning an active designation for Thursday Night Football.
Adams has managed to compete in all 14 games of the season so far, making the huge impact that LA anticipated when it signed him to a two-year, $44 million contract in free agency. He has 60 receptions for 789 yards and an NFL-leading 14 touchdowns this season. Fellow WR Puka Nacua deserves Offensive Player of the Year consideration, but Adams' presence allows him to be especially lethal.
Although the tremendous route-runner should still get open without No. 17 drawing attention away from him, LA's offense would probably change to at least some degree if the other half of this elite duo is sidelined.
Davante Adams will turn 33 years old on Christmas Eve. He knows that his time to win a championship is limited, hence why he is surely itching to return to practice. Rams fans will hopefully have a clearer idea of his status on Wednesday.
