Because of his dismal stint with the Cleveland Browns, not a few people felt that Odell Beckham Jr. was already washed. When he was shipped to the Los Angeles Rams midway in the season, it offered renewed hope for OBJ.
Beckham had a relatively slow start with the Rams, leading some to question the team's decision to acquire him. But clearly, those qualms have been put to rest. The All-Pro wide receiver has been huge for the Rams in the NFL Playoffs, helping them reach Super Bowl LVI.
One guy who witnessed OBJ's rejuvenated form is San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel, as they battled in the NFC Championship Game. In a report by 49ers.com, Samuel revealed he and OBJ talked on the phone a few days later and he gave the Rams WR the perfect message.
“(I told him) ‘You look like you're the old O. Without you, I don't think (the Rams) are in this position.' They've got Cooper Kupp, of course. But he's not going to beat you by himself. He needs the help. I'm just proud of the player he (Beckham) became and it just looks like he's getting back to himself and I'm very happy for him.”
Beckham has silenced the doubters, and he could find the best form of vindication when the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI and lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
