The Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday morning announced the decision to ink Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley to a four-year extension worth up to $60 million with $45 million guaranteed on the deal.
In light of that news, Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff took to social media to congratulate his teammate for what he believes is a well-deserved extension for the 23-year-old.
No one deserves it more…congrats @TG3II !!

Through his first three campaigns in the league, Gurley has emerged as one of the league's best all-around running backs. He is coming off his a highly productive year that saw him earn the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. He even garnered some consideration for the MVP award after he led the league with 2,093 scrimmage yards and 19 total touchdowns. Gurley also became just the third player in league history to have at least 2,000 scrimmage yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, and more than five touchdowns receptions in a single season, joining Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk and O.J. Simpson.
Gurley has been one of the primary beneficiaries from head coach Sean McVay's offensive game plan as it has centered around him being the primary factor in the running back while utilizing his unique ability to be a factor out of the backfield as a receiver that fueled the Rams to possess the league's highest-scoring offense last year. Los Angeles will likely continue to lean on their star running back as the vital asset in the offense to push them to greater heights next season and beyond.
The Rams have put together a roster that has the potential to break through past just a playoff appearance as the team has a stacked roster on both sides of the ball that could see them be in the picture to contend for a Super Bowl. With Gurley in place, it keeps their most dangerous offensive weapon on board for the long haul.
