Since the Los Angeles Rams suffered a 30-23 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, there has been persistent chatter around the health of star running back Todd Gurley.

The Pro Bowler has yet to take the practice field this week let alone participate in any drills that involve running. All of this pushed forward the expectations that there will not be any clarity on his status for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals until he goes through his pregame warmup routine that morning, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

The Rams are taking the precautionary approach with Gurley to avoid any possible setbacks, which has made no participation in practice a key to that plan of action. There hasn't been a great level of concern about his health, but enough so that it pushed the front office to bring aboard veteran running back C.J. Anderson earlier this week.

On top of that, head coach Sean McVay has voiced that the team plans on playing Anderson in this week's game. The Rams are simply treading carefully with their star running back with eyes toward having him in the fold for the playoffs. Gurley has been the driving force of the offense, and his absence would put them at a significant disadvantage in postseason action.

Ultimately, this is a situation that will play itself out in the hours prior to Sunday's game.
