Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley was a non-factor in the NFC Championship Game. It appears head coach Sean McVay expects that to change in Super Bowl LIII.
Mcvay blamed himself for Gurley's lack of involvement during their last game. According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, he expects his star back to get plenty of work against the New England Patriots:

This is certainly an encouraging sign for the Rams. Gurley tallied just 13 yards on a career-low five touches. Backup running back C.J. Anderson even registered more snaps than he did against the Saints.
There was plenty of speculation regarding Gurley's virtual absence from the game. Although McVay initially took the blame, the Rams' star attributed his lack of involvement to his poor performance early on. There was even some concern regarding the knee injury that Gurley out for the final two games of the regular season, however, Los Angeles has simply chalked it up as a bad game.
The Rams will need Gurley to be at his best against the Patriots this Sunday. Despite his recent struggles, he is still the reigning Offensive Player of the Year. New England would undoubtedly much rather have the Rams try to be them with quarterback Jared Goff's arm than Gurley's legs. It will be interesting to see which team can win the battle up front as it will have a huge impact on the outcome of this game.
