Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that the New England Patriots will once again enter the regular season as the league's defending Super Bowl Champions. With the Patriots upending head coach Sean McVay and the upstart Los Angeles Rams, New England managed to yet again assert itself as a major powerhouse despite encountering what appeared to be a bit of a down year at times — in terms of the team's standards, anyway.
With McVay and company finding themselves outmatched as a result of last season's NFL title game, the Rams head coach had a feeling that the Patriots had an edge midway through the contest.
Article Continues Below“During the game,” McVay said of exactly when he realized that he made mistakes in his preparation for the heralded Patriots, via Yahoo! Sports. “Right in the middle of it.”
However, the up-and-coming head coach has learned a valuable lesson from such an experience while it is safe to say that McVay surely won't be making similar mistakes going forward.
“If you expect to adapt and evolve, [remember] the teams that did have success against you,” McVay added, via Yahoo! Sports. “Because you bet your ass you’re going to see that game plan again.”
Despite coming up short last season, the Rams aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Los Angeles will certainly enter the 2019 campaign as one of the biggest threats in the NFC while another trip to the Super Bowl can be in the cards assuming all continues to go right on the West Coast.
