The Los Angeles Rams are on the verge of missing out on the playoffs, so they need every man to be ready to play. This only makes Jared Goff's thumb injury a huge roadblock for their playoff hopes.

However, it seems like Rams fans don't have to worry about being under powered ahead of their do-or-die game against the San Francisco 49ers as Goff should be able to return back to full health. Head coach Sean McVay revealed that his quarterback should be able to play.

“Really, any sort of thing that — especially for a quarterback — any part of your hand, I think can severely alter your ability to throw the football,” McVay said, per Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. “He was able to kind of get through it and fortunately, today he woke up and was feeling better.”

He also explained how his quarterback probably got the injury.

“It was on the interception,” McVay told reporters. “I think it was [Andrew] Whitworth’s helmet. You could see his thumb comes down on it right when he was finishing that throw. I believe that’s the play that it occurred on.”

It's good that they'll have their quarterback ready to play because the 49ers are looking to be a tough opponent to beat. They have one of the best defenses in the league and the offense is also picking up the pace. Given the current condition of the Rams, it will be tough for them to play without one of their key players.

Goff has had a season with its ups and downs. He's notched 3996 passing yards but only completed 17 touchdowns. Meanwhile, he's thrown 15 interceptions, making him less productive than his last two seasons. He will need to put on the performance of the year if he wants to keep the Rams' playoff hopes alive.
