The Los Angeles Rams have taken a cautious approach with their starters by sitting them out of the preseason thus far. It appears they will be sticking to the same script this week versus the Houston Texans.

Fortunately, running back Todd Gurley does not seem to mind. In fact, according to Cameron DaSilva of the Rams Wire, he insists it is a dream come true:

“That is everyone’s dream not to play in the preseason. What are you talkin’ about?” he said with a laugh.

It is clear that Gurley wants no part of the preseason. While it is a good time for players on the bubble to earn a spot on the roster, established players like himself would rather watch from the sidelines. As the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, he has sixty-million reasons why he is ok with not taking part in these exhibition games.

Gurley is not the only one who has been ruled out for this week's game. Quarterback Jared Goff, left tackle Andrew Whitworth, and center John Sullivan are among those on the offense that will not take part. Head coach Sean McVay's decision to sit the starters has come with its fair share of mixed reviews.

Of course, there are benefits to shaking the rust off with a little live-game action leading up to the regular season. However, it is clear that McVay does not feel as though it is worth the risk of one of his players getting injured. The recent designation likely indicates that the starters will miss the entire preseason.
