Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley injured his knee in his team's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night and will get the knee checked out, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.
Rams head coach Sean McVay added that Gurley is a “warrior,” saying that he “loves that guy,” per Cameron DeSilva of The Rams Wire.
Gurley carried the ball 12 times for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns before exiting. He also hauled in 10 receptions for 76 yards.
On the season, Gurley has racked up 1,251 yards and a league-leading 17 touchdowns on the ground while averaging 4.9 yards per carry. In addition, he has caught 59 passes for 580 yards and four scores. As a result of his production, Gurley finished in the top five in fan voting for the Pro Bowl.
This will be Gurley's second straight trip to Honolulu and his third overall.
Article Continues BelowLast season, the 24-year-old accumulated 1,305 yards and a league-best 13 rushing touchdowns, recording 4.7 yards per attempt. He also snared 64 balls for 788 yards, reaching the end zone six times. He not only made the Pro Bowl, but he was named First-Team All-Pro for his efforts.
Gurley, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by the Rams with the 10th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He burst on to the scene during his rookie campaign, totaling 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns in 13 games en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.
Los Angeles currently owns a record of 11-3 and will head on the road to take on the Arizona Cardinals next weekend.
