Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley remains day-to-day due to the ongoing knee injury that kept him sidelined for Week 16's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Gurley has racked up 256 carries for 1,251 yards and 17 touchdowns this season while also catching 59 passes for 580 yards and four touchdowns.

After going through pre-game warmups in Arizona, the Rams chose to keep Gurley inactive so that he could continue to heal for the playoff run.

And it sounds like the team will continue to monitor his situation each day before figuring out when to play him again, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

Rams running back Todd Gurley missed Sunday’s game against the Cardinals with a knee injury. His status for next week is to be determined.

Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, Gurley’s injury is “really a day-to-day thing,” with the team evaluating him regularly to see whether he is healthy enough to play.

The Rams did just fine without Gurley against the Cardinals, as Sean McVay's team rolled to a 31-9 win behind 167 yards on the ground from newly-signed running back C.J. Anderson.

However, it's obvious that the Rams will only be able to navigate their way to a Super Bowl if Gurley is fully healthy and at his best on the field. So, it makes sense to keep him out as long as needed before the postseason arrives.

Los Angeles will wrap up the regular season next week when the San Francisco 49ers come to town.
