Sean McVay didn't expect the Los Angeles Rams to make any significant move before the NFL trade deadline, so imagine his reaction when the team made a trade for outside linebacker Von Miller.

On Monday just a little over 24 hours before the November 2 deadline, the Rams traded for Miller from the Denver Broncos in exchange for second- and third-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. LA also agreed to pay $9 million of Miller's remaining salary to complete the transaction.

Apparently, McVay was informed about the possibility of acquiring Miller in a trade a couple of days ago, and naturally, his reaction to the development was that of surprise and utter disbelief.

“You've got to be shitting me!” McVay said of his initial response upon hearing the trade that was still in the works at the time, per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.

Sean McVay's reaction is understandable. After all, getting an eight-time Pro Bowler to their fold is certainly a huge boost to a Rams team with Super Bowl aspirations. Granted that Von Miller is no longer the same dominant pass rusher he once was, but there's no doubt he still has a lot left in his tank.

Not to mention that he adds veteran and championship experience to the Rams that really need one.

McVay has nothing but praises for Miller following the acquisition, calling him an “incredibly unique football player, per team reporter Stu Jackson.

Miller is set to arrive in Los Angeles on Tuesday for his physical, and the hopes are he'll be ready to join the team when they play in Week 9 on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
