The Los Angeles Rams are taking a cautious approach with running back Todd Gurley's status for Week 16 still up in the air. Fortunately, running back C.J. Anderson is eager to make an impact on his new team.
The Rams signed Anderson off waivers earlier in the week. He is confident in his ability to step up in case Gurley is unable to play, via the Rams' Twitter account:

“Whatever they need me to do,” Anderson said. “I know I’m going to do everything that I possibly can this week to be ready to play. McVay and teammates and everybody can feel comfortable with me out there if that opportunity presents itself. But until then I’m just going to keep my head down and keep pushing.”
Anderson's comments are certainly encouraging. The Rams' backfield has been hobbled by injuries, as of late with Gurley suffering a knee injury during their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Meanwhile, running back Justin Davis is still listed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury.
Although he has endured a quiet 2018 campaign, Anderson's signing brings some much-needed stability to the run game. He rushed for his first career 1,000-yard campaign last year as a bonafide workhorse for the Denver Broncos. The former Pro Bowler also hauled in 28 receptions for 224 yards and a touchdown that season. His versatile skill set will allow Los Angeles to potentially plug him into a number of sets. With the Rams likely taking a safe approach with Gurley's recovery, it is safe to assume that Anderson will get plenty of work against the Arizona Cardinals.
