Most people projected the Miami Dolphins to select Tua Tagovailoa in the 2020 NFL Draft. That's exactly what happened on Thursday when they selected the quarterback from Alabama with the fifth overall selection in the first round.

There has been a lot of talk about Tagovailoa since the end of the College football season. Some believe him to be the best quarterback in the draft. Others are going as far as saying he's the best quarterback prospect in quite some time.

However, others believe he won't live up to the hype.

So which is it? Did the Dolphins make the right move or not? Well, smart money would be that Tagovailoa is indeed a stud.

Miami needed a quarterback. Josh Rosen has potential but in two years hasn't really shown anything (to be fair his opportunities have been limited). So taking Tagovailoa wasn't really a surprise.

At the same time though, some thought he could drop pretty far. However, that wasn't really due to his talent, it was more about the injury concerns.

And if we're being honest, injuries are definitely an issue with Tagovailoa and something to watch out for. He has a long injury history and had some serious issues along the way.

But when we're talking talent, wow. There aren't many better than Tagovailoa. He's got an incredible arm with just ridiculous accuracy. Accuracy that you don't usually see from someone in College.

Tagovailoa will be just 22 for the entire 2020 NFL season, but he's already ready to compete at the level. He's far from a quarterback that needs to sit and learn at the level.

The only other argument against Tagovailoa has been the talent at Alabama. That's not a fair assessment though.

Some people are saying that he was good because of all the weapons around him and the protection of the offensive line.

There's no denying that team was absolutely stacked. Couldn't it go both ways though? Maybe the weapons only looked good because of Tagovailoa?

Or maybe it was the more reasonable and likely of the scenarios. Maybe they fed off each other. The weapons made the quarterback better and the quarterback made the weapons better.

Now he's ready for a new challenge though, and that's what the Dolphins bring. Miami needed to bring in a quarterback that can lead the franchise for years to come, but could also start immediately. They don't really have time to sit and wait around, they've done that for too long already.

Tagovailoa gives them hope. Realistic hope too. He's proven himself every step of the way. And outside of health concerns, there's no reason to believe he won't continue to tear up the competition in the NFL. Miami got a stud, he's really that good.
