Minnesota Vikings running back Latavius Murray made it clear that he will be looking for a starting gig in free agency. It seems the Philadelphia Eagles could be among those willing to oblige.

The Eagles have notable voids to fill in the backfield this offseason. According to Mike Kaye of nj.com, Murray could be on their radar in free agency.

Minnesota Vikings running back Latavius Murray is among the most intriguing options set to hit the open market in March. The 29-year-old has plenty of experience working as part of a running back rotation, which appeals to the Eagles’ interests at the position.

The prospect of signing Murray is certainly not too far-fetched for Philadelphia. Running backs Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles are set to hit free agency this offseason. Since their durability has left much to be desired, it is safe to say that the Eagles could be looking elsewhere on the market.

Adding Murray would provide the Eagles with plenty of flexibility both on the field and in their pockets. He has proven more than capable of handling workhorse duties during his time with the Oakland Raiders at the start of his career. Despite largely serving a complementary role in Minnesota's backfield, he still managed to produce whenever his number was called after finishing the 2018 campaign with 578 yards and six touchdowns on 140 carries.

Not only is Murray capable of taking any role that is asked of him, but he will not be as expensive as some of the other running backs set to hit the market. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell has made it clear that he wants to be one of the highest-paid offensive players in the league. Meanwhile, Atlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman could also be searching for his first big payday this offseason. Murray could very well be the one that provides Philadelphia with the most bang for their buck.
