Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen is coming off of a spectacular 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 113 receptions for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Pro Football Focus notes that Thielen was every bit as good as his numbers suggested, ranking him as the Vikings' best offensive player and the seventh-best wideout in the NFL this past season:

Thielen, who played his collegiate football at Minnesota State, went undrafted but eventually saw his first NFL action with the Vikings in 2014, logging eight catches for 137 yards and a touchdown that season.

The following year, Thielen's role remained limited, as he finished with just 12 receptions for 144 yards.

But, in 2016, Thielen broke out, catching 69 passes for 967 yards and five scores. He was then even better in 2017, snaring 91 balls for 1,276 yards while reaching the end zone four times, making his first Pro Bowl as a result.

The 28-year-old has been on an upward trajectory since his rookie campaign, so it makes you wonder just how big of a year is in store for Thielen in 2019.

The Vikings as a team, however, were very disappointing this past year, going 8-7-1 and missing the playoffs one season after winning 13 games and making it all the way to the NFC Championship Game.

Success in consecutive seasons has been hard to come by for Minnesota in recent years, as the Vikings have not made back-to-back playoff appearances since 2009.

In a tough NFC North that includes the Chicago Bears and an improved Green Bay Packers squad, things might be tough again for the Vikings this coming season.
