Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is set to undergo an MRI scan following an injury scare during his team's Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

Cook limped off the field in the third quarter of Sunday's game with what appeared to be a groin injury. The Florida native returned to the field briefly, but later came off again for good.

Cook immediately went to the locker room after pulling up on his 22nd touch of the night, which was a swing pass to the flat. He started limping a bit before reaching the sideline, where he was knocked out of bounds by Seahawks safety Ryan Neal.

The Vikings fought hard in Sunday's matchup, but late heroics from Russell Wilson led to a 27-26 victory for the Seahawks. Wilson threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns, converting on 20 of his 32 passes. Prior to exiting the game, Cook had 17 carries for 65 yards to go with one touchdown. Alexander Mattison led the Vikings on the ground with 112 yards on 20 carries.

It will be a tough blow for the Vikings if Cook is slated to miss a significant amount of time. Just last week, he had 130 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Houston Texans. He also had a pair of catches in that game for 16 yards:

“Obviously, you don’t want to lose a guy like Dalvin,” receiver Adam Thielen said, via startribune.com. “He’s such a dynamic football player and means so much to this offense.”

The 1-4 Vikings are now set to host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET, with FOX having live broadcast coverage.
