The Minnesota Vikings fell vastly short of expectations in the 2018 NFL season. However, their struggles this year has not hindered running back Latavius Murray's desire to remain in Minnesota.

Murray will be an unrestricted free agent entering the offseason. According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, he expressed strong interest in staying with the Vikings:

“But I would love to be back here for that opportunity to compete with and against them. That’s the only way you get better. As far as this team, this organization, this group of guys, this locker room, I love everything about it.”

Murray has not been shy about voicing his opinion on Minnesota's 2018 campaign. He acknowledged the struggles on offense that had transpired throughout the course of the season. As a result, nearly every weapon has suffered because of it. Regardless, it appears that he is still optimistic about the future in Minnesota.

Murray also admitted that he would like another chance to be a starter. Aside from a few stints as the Vikings' workhorse due to injury, he has largely served as a complementary option in the backfield since his arrival. He registered 578 yards and six touchdowns to go with 22 catches for 141vyards this season.

Unfortunately, his chances at being the top option in Minnesota are greatly hindered by the emergence of running back Dalvin Cook. Despite his track record with injuries, Minnesota appears to be committed to Cook as their future workhorse back. Murray may be better off going elsewhere if he hopes to get a shot at being named the starter.
