Mike Zimmer and the Minnesota Vikings are installing a new offense this offseason under OC Kevin Stefanski. But a key piece of that offense hasn’t always been present during their offseason workouts: wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

However, Zimmer is unconcerned that Diggs has not been an ever-present in the process of installing the new offense and indicates that the star wideout has been to his fair share of workouts.

“He’s been here,” Zimmer said regarding Diggs, per Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “He’s been to most of them.”

Diggs is coming off his best season yet in 2018 as he set new career-highs in receptions (102), receiving yards (1,021), and touchdown catches (9).

He and Adam Thielen will be expected to be major parts of the Vikings’ new offense as the primary receiving weapons of quarterback Kirk Cousins.

There really shouldn’t be anything for Zimmer and the Vikings to worry about. It’s Diggs’ prerogative to skip on the voluntary portion of the offseason workouts and should show up during the mandatory part, which it sounds as if he has. It’s that simple.

It’s not as if Diggs is completely starting from scratch. He obviously knows his teammates already and is at least somewhat familiar with Stefanski’s offense after he took over on an interim basis from John DeFilippo late last season.

And even though Diggs missed out on some workouts, there’s still more than enough time for him to catch up and learn the new offense during training camp.
