Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins isn't known as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but he tends to get the job done every Sunday.
Cousins though does happen to be very effective in one particular play type for the Viking's offense. The play-action pass.
Cousins in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins garnered a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3. 32 percent of his dropbacks were a product of play-action, and it continually fooled the Dolphins defense. Cousins dished out touchdown passes to Stefon Diggs and Aldrick Robinson. He went 14 for 21 for 215 yards for the Vikings. This is their second-highest score in five years under coach Mike Zimmer.

Cousins' running back Dalvin Cook had a career-high 136 yards and two touchdowns for the Vikings, who held onto a playoff spot with a 41-17 win over the Dolphins this past Sunday.
Cook spoke of Cousins highly, per Dave Campbell of the Associated Press.
“We just wanted to go out there and get back to playing like how we know we can play. He knows the type of guys he has around him We’re going to give it 100 percent every play for him. He dialed it up today.”
The Minnesota Vikings are now 7-6-1 on the season, ranking second in the NFC North division under head coach Mike Zimmer. They have 23.1 points per game average which ranks 17th in the NFL. They also give up 22.0 points per game, which ranks 12th in the NFL.
The Vikings will play the Detroit Lions next in an away game and will then finish out the year at home versus the Chicago Bears.
