Balestrieri: For two weeks in a row, we’ve seen things that are improving, especially Monday night. Now I know that Josh McDaniels kept things very conservative until they really had to push the ball down the field. They were taking those short quick passes, which is fine. When you are looking at the talent level of the Patriots skill players, I think that’s fine. I mean, you’re just looking at it saying we just need to keep the ball moving in the right direction and we’re not going to try to force the issue too much and Cam has had some issues turning the ball over. We all know that. You are looking at the big picture of things.

I thought he performed extremely well. He completed his first 11 passes. I was looking at the way he was throwing the football and he was very accurate. Other than the one missed throw to Dameon Byrd where he was wide open and Cam overthrew him, I thought he was spot on with the ball almost all night long.

Now, granted, the Jets secondary isn’t the greatest, we all know that, but you’re looking for small victories here and I thought the way he ran the offense, he was getting the ball out quicker, he held it a few times but that’s part of the guys they have running routes right now. Overall, I was very impressed with how he ran the offense and the way the team reacted around him, especially the running backs, the running game, and the offensive line. I thought that was all big positives Monday night.
