The NFL front office has decided to move the New England Patriots' matchup against the Denver Broncos to Monday, per 9News' Mike Klis. This was one of the few outcomes that remained after the Patriots had three players test positive for COVID-19.

The Patriots are dealing with what could be a COVID-19 outbreak, similar to that of the Tennessee Titans. Quarterback Cam Newton was the first to test positive on the team. He was asymptomatic and encouraged his team along with NFL fans to continue wearing masks to help continue the fight against the virus.
Article Continues BelowShortly afterward, defensive tackle Bill Murray also tested positive. Cornerback Stephon Gilmore most recently joined the NFL reserve/COVID-19 list with both Murray and Newton. The Patriots have practiced precautions with the virus such as the ones they took against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. After learning of Newton's test results, the team took two different planes to Kansas City to keep the group of players that'd been in contact with Newton separated from the rest of the team.
The decision to move the game only a day later is actually good news. Thanks to the improper professionalism by the Titans and their handling of the COVID-19 outbreak, there's a bit of panic in the NFL about the potential postponing of the season in order to revamp a new structure that is safer for players and staff.
In terms of the game itself, the Patriots will once again be without the services of Newton, leaving the door wide open for another poor performance from backup quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham. The 1-3 Denver Broncos will hopefully try to take advantage of a Patriots offense without its leader.
