New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has been calling fake news on the excerpts being released from the upcoming book from ESPN reporter Seth Wickersham.

The book entitled It's Better to Be Feared: The New England Patriots Dynasty and the Pursuit of Greatness has dropped a ton of juicy tidbits ahead of its expected release on October 12.

Asked about the legitimacy of the book's contents, Belichick was recently quoted as saying he's never even talked to Wickersham.

“Well I don’t think any of us are surprised by that type of media coverage,” Belichick explained. “I mean I don’t think I’ve ever even talked to the guy, so I don’t know. “You’d have to ask him what his great sources are. I’m not sure.”

However, Wickersham responded to the Patriots coach's claims that they've never even met. He reiterated that they've had several conversations over the years and has some of them on record.

“Was just asked about this in an interview,” said Wickersham in response to the Patriots coach. “Curious thing for him to say. We've spoken many times over the years, recorded and on record, for stories both on Brady and himself: An hour on his coaching tree, 45 min on Ken Shipp and learning offense; 20 min on the draft process, etc”

Whether true or not, only the Bill Belichick and the Patriots themselves would really know for sure. But I'd say the book getting denials from Belichick himself may only stir up interest in it once it finally releases to the public.
