The suspension that Bennett received was the result of ‘conduct detrimental to the team' while Bennett claimed that it was over a ‘philosophical disagreement.'
“On Friday, I had a philosophical disagreement with my position coach that has led to my suspension,” Bennett said, via Howie Kussoy of New York Post. “I apologize to my teammates for any distraction this may have caused.”
Nick Underhill of The Athletic reported that Bennett was vocal about his dissatisfaction with his role in the Patriots' defense to the coaching staff. There is never a guarantee for playing time from head coach Bill Belichick as he will do what he views as best for his team.

We’ll try to do what’s best for our team, and that’s everybody. It’s him, that’s everybody else. I mean, Devin McCourty’s snap count is down, too.”
Bennett has played in six games for the Patriots and has played in 130 snaps and has recorded five total tackles and 2.5 sacks so far this season.
New England acquired Bennett from the Philadelphia Eagles during the offseason and then signed a two-year, $16.8 million contract with a $4 million signing bonus in the offseason.
The Patriots will face Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
