The New England Patriots have had a hectic offseason. After winning the Super Bowl, they've been generating a ton of headlines for a variety of reasons.
They lost some big name players like Trey Flowers and Trent Brown in free agency, their defensive coordinator left to take the Dolphins' head coaching job, and Robert Kraft was arrested. Then yesterday, Rob Gronkowski dropped the news out of nowhere that he was retiring.
But despite all the drama, there's one member of the organization we haven't heard much about, and that's Tom Brady. Brady is heading into the final year of his contract, but that hasn't gotten very much attention.
The team doesn't appear to view it as a very pressing issue, and “all is quiet on the Tom Brady contract front,” a source told Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston.

Brady has consistently shot down any talk of retirement, so you'd think he'd want to get a new deal done pretty soon. Brady will turn 42 in August, and has insisted he wants to play at least until he's 45.
There's no chance Brady tries to go and play anywhere else, but it's still notable that he's entering his walk-year and nobody seems to be talking it. It doesn't sound like there's been any progress on negotiations, but Brady has all the leverage.
He didn't show any drop off last year, making the Pro Bowl and leading New England to yet another championship.
