New Orleans Saints star quarterback Drew Brees has his own free agency question to answer this spring, although he has repeatedly said he plans on returning to the NFC South team should he return. What does the gunslinging Saints QB think of his peer Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, though?

Brees, 41, spoke on “The Greg Hill Show” about Brady's free agency situation, via WEEI.

“Well, I can’t speak for Tom, but I know for me being at this stage of my career, I just want to win. I just want to win,” Brees said. “I think Tom has been a guy who has kind of been a model for all of us for a lot of years. I don’t think any of this is about money for Tom. I think it is about wining another championship. I also think it is probably about feeling he’s in a situation where he has all the pieces in place to do that. Again, I can’t speak for him, but I know at this stage of the game and knowing his mentality to a degree, it is about winning a championship.”

Brees and the Saints had their 2019 season cut short in the first round of the postseason, much like Brady and the Patriots. Unlike fellow star signal-caller Brady, however, Brees spent the season becoming the No. 1 all-time leader in career passing touchdowns, with him and the Pats star both passing Peyton Manning but the Saints QB on top.

While Brees is all but certain to stay in New Orleans in 2020, Brady's situation appears to be very different, with speculation pointing to a breakup with his long-time franchise.
