Bill Belichick's texting mishap caused a huge shockwave in the NFL in the last two weeks. The New England Patriots head coach's mistake when congratulating a former assistant of his eventually led to Brian Flores suing the NFL for discriminatory practices, among other things.

While the topic of racism is obviously a touchy subject, other people chose to poke fun at Belichick's texting mishap being the root cause of all of this. Amid the NFL's award show, late night host Jimmy Kimmel made a joke at the Patriots coach's expense. (via Alyssa Charlston)

Bill Belichick infamously wrongly texted Brian Flores instead of Brian Daboll regarding Daboll landing the New York Giants coaching job. Flores, who was still scheduled to interview with the Giants, had no idea of this. This sequence of events eventually led to the former Patriots assistant suing the NFL, the Giants, and the Broncos a few weeks ago.

Belichick's technological shortcomings eventually became the hilarious talking point amongst fans. Fans found it funny that the 69-year-old Patriots head coach's wrongly sent text led to the potential dismantling of racism in the NFL. Despite the obvious gravity of the situation, it was still a bit funny to think about.

Since Flores' lawsuit, the former Patriots assistant hasn't landed a job amongst the nine vacant head coaching spots. Flores is still in a legal struggle to prove the NFL's discriminatory practices, which makes him a rather hard get for franchises right. However, in his 3 years with the Dolphins, he's proven he's a great coach. He'll surely get a coaching job sooner than latter.
