The New England Patriots are a superb football team that has quality in every position. They have shored up their secondary for the foreseeable future after tying Jonathan Jones to another long-term deal with the Pats.
Boston Herald's Kevin Duffy reported that Jones recently inked a three-year extension with the Pats. That deal will see him play in a New England jersey until the 2022 season.
The move shores up the team's cornerback position, arguably the strongest group in an already-impressive team. Jones was picked up by the Pats as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and has won two Super Bowls (LI and LIII) with the Patriots.
The former Auburn Tiger didn't shy away from expressing his happiness with the new deal.

Jones was impressive during the team's 33-3 triumph over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He made three tackles and deflected two passes to his marks. He managed to contain Ryan Switzer, Johnny Holton, and Diontae Johnson.
With contract talks finally out of the way, he can now focus on winning his third Super Bowl ring with the team.
As much as Tom Brady is still amazing at 42, there will come a time when he has to hang it up. Jones and the Patriots secondary will make sure that they get as many Super Bowls as they can in the twilight years of the Brady era.
