Josh Gordon is active today and will make his New England Patriots debut when the team takes on the Miami Dolphins at home in a divisional battle. The Patriots acquired Gordon from the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago, but the wide receiver didn't play in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions due a hamstring ailment.

By now, everyone knows Gordon's story. He has unbelievable raw talent at the wide receiver position and is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. The problem is, he hasn’t had many opportunities to catch the ball over the past few seasons due to suspensions related to failed drug tests.

After playing in 14 games in 2013 with the Browns, Josh Gordon has only appeared in 11 games since. He missed the entire 2015 and 2016 season due to a violation of the league substance abuse policy. Gordon, 27, has career stats of 180 receptions for 3,106 yards and 16 touchdowns in 41 games in the NFL.

It's doubtful Gordon will get a handful of snaps today. Hamstring strains can flare up quite easily and Gordon is probably not in tiptop shape. The Patriots are 1-2 and have lost two-straight games. The Dolphins, meanwhile, are 3-0 and sit atop the AFC East standings.

This could be Gordon's last chance to salvage his NFL career.
