During Sunday's 24-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady has moved into a tie with Peyton Manning for the all-time mark with 579 total career touchdowns in the regular season and playoffs.
This saw star wide receiver Josh Gordon be the recipient of the historic touchdown on a 24-yard reception. Following the game, Gordon voiced that he didn't know the magnitude of the moment but aired his appreciation for being a part of a major individual play in Brady's illustrious career, via Joshua Schrock of NESN.
Article Continues Below“I did not know that stat line, but it must be fate, I guess,” Gordon said, via NESN’s Doug Kyed. “I won’t say coincidence, but it’s great to be on the receiving end of it. (I am) extremely humbled to come out here every Sunday and get a chance to play, let alone with Tom Brady, the greatest to ever do it. So, to be a part of history with him? I can’t really even put the words to describe what that means to me. But, it’s just great to have the opportunity.”
Brady has continued to add to his sure-fire Hall of Fame career as he has racked up more impressive individual marks to his name. Although he has had a notable drop off his in production this year, he has continued to show why he is one of the league's greatest players and arguably the best quarterback to play the game.
Meanwhile, Gordon has continued to provide another asset to the passing game that the Patriots have relied heavily upon since his arrival earlier this year. He has notched 34 catches for 605 receiving yards and four touchdowns in nine games played this season.
This simply another chance for there to realize the type of talent and the special player that Brady has proven and continues to prove on the field.
