The New England Patriots made the big-splash move earlier this week to acquire star wide receiver Josh Gordon from the Cleveland Browns. Since then, the team has pushed to quickly get him acclimated into the fold of things in order to get on the field in the near future.

However, Gordon may have to wait to make his Patriots debut as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury. He's listed as questionable for their Week 3 matchup against the Lions, with the Patriots preparing to play without him.

The Patriots are taking the precautionary route with the situation given that this was part of the reason why he was moved in the first place. There was initially an MRI done to see the severity of the injury that came back negative, which make this an injury that the team is taking it by feel.

If New England were to allow him to play, it would likely be in a limited fashion due to his health and understanding of their playbook. He has only been with the team for a few days that may not be enough time in the team's mind put him on the field combined with the hamstring issue.

Once Gordon is able to play be it Week 3 or beyond, he has a chance to secure a significant role in the passing game due to his big-play ability combined with his size and speed that makes him a major mismatch for opposing secondaries. This could be his chance to break through and compete for a Super Bowl.
