The New England Patriots had a terrific season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Josh Gordon, who finally returned after his eight-month suspension, was among the key receivers to help make the 33-3 final score a reality.

Flash caught three catches for 73 yards, leading the receiving corps in average yards per reception. He looked sharp, not looking like he was out of the league for half the year.

Asked about his current condition, the former Cleveland Brown was rather chipper. He shared with the press that he is at a good place and is eager to play more football.

“I'm doing very well. I'm extremely filled with gratitude every day, just enjoying myself,” he said after the Patriots' 33-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium, via ESPN's Mike Reiss. “Coming inside this building, being with this family-oriented type of environment, and just doing what I love to do; there's nothing better than this, honestly. It's great.”

One of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game also offered kind words to one of his star wideouts.

“Josh is a great player. It's great to have him out there,” quarterback Tom Brady said. “He's a dynamic player and every game that we play together, there's more trust that's built, and I'll keep finding a way to get him the ball.”

It's no secret to everyone that Gordon has struggled with substance abuse his entire career. Before his eight-month sentence, he had to sit out two entire seasons of football due to his violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.

He has since sought help with his problem and is now eager to move forward. He detailed through his social media account that he will not be addressing issues about his past anymore and will focus on his football instead.

Gordon will look forward to an exciting season with the Pats. And with Brown on the way to Massachusetts, there's no question that they will be the heavy favorites to win it all again come Super Bowl LIV.
