The New England Patriots have reached yet another Super Bowl while managing to do so without the services of former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon. The troubled wideout made his way to New England by way of Cleveland thanks to a mid-season trade away from the Browns.

Unfortunately, though, Gordon's season was once again marred by his inability to remain on the field.

It is no secret that Gordon has continued to battle addiction and mental health issues throughout his career while the veteran pass catcher continues to serve as one of the best in the league when on the field. This time around, Gordon stepped away from the game during the 2018-19 regular season before promptly receiving an indefinite suspension from the NFL for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement.

As a result, Gordon has been seeking the help that he needs to get back on track with a recent report from NESN since creating a bit of chaos before the Patriots' Super Bowl LIII matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

“Gordon currently is receiving treatment at an inpatient facility in Gainesville, Fla., the source said,” reports Doug Kyed of NESN. “Gordon was spotted at a Gainesville-area gym earlier this month because he has been granted freedom to work out based on time spent in the facility.

“The Patriots are paying for Gordon’s treatment, the source said. The Patriots declined to comment on the situation.”

However, it does not appears as though New England is shouldering the payments for his rehabilitation program — according to Gordon himself.
