New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon has been on the team for three weeks now and says he hasn't had too much difficulty learning the playbook.

Gordon has four receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown in two games with the Patriots. He's taken 18 snaps and says the help he's gotten from his teammates has accelerated his learning curve with the offense.

“It hasn’t been too tough,” Gordon said of picking up the Patriots’ playbook, via Doug Kyed of NESN. “I think that’s greatly due in part to the amount of help I receive from my teammates here, definitely Tom (Brady), all the receivers help bringing me along on a daily basis. The coaches, just giving me all these resources I need. And me taking advantage of it, going home and studying that daily.

“I think even a part of having a certain amount of experience in the league already and seeing so many different offenses and stuff, I think the language of it is somewhat familiar. It hasn’t been too tough.”

If Josh Gordon can keep his head on a swivel and not get into any trouble off the field, the trade the Patriots made with the Cleveland Browns will turn out to be a steal. Gordon's ability to stretch the field with his speed and catch passes in double coverage is something the Patriots haven't had since the Randy Moss days.

There’s a saying in sports, “Your best ability is your availability,” and Gordon doesn’t fit that bill. After playing in 14 games in 2013, Josh Gordon has only appeared in 13 games since. He missed the entire 2015 and 2016 season due to a violation of the league substance abuse policy.

Gordon is expected to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs despite a lingering hamstring injury.
