The NFL recently announced it has reinstated New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon. His return to the team has gotten wide receiver Julian Edelman excited about the 2019 NFL season.
Gordon will be allowed to rejoin the team after stepping away from the game last year. Edelman celebrated with a post, via Instagram:

Edelman's excitement is certainly understandable. The acquisition of Gordon from the Cleveland Browns last season generated plenty of hype in New England. His arrival provided the Patriots offense with a potential X-Factor on the outside.
Early on, it appeared as though Gordon would be able to oblige after showing plenty of promise and even earning the praise of quarterback Tom Brady. He would finish the 2018 campaign in New England with 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns before deciding to step away after he was slated to serve another suspension.
Edelman was undoubtedly able to hold down the receiving corps in Gordon's absence. After serving a suspension of his own for the first four games of the season, he finished with 74 receptions for 850 yards and six touchdowns. He managed to cap things off by catching 10 passes on 12 targets for 141 yards against the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl.
Despite Edelman's prowess in the passing game, he is well aware that his job is made much easier when there are other weapons on the field. The Patriots' arsenal has already been depleted by the retirement of tight end Rob Gronkowski. Gordon's mere presence will undoubtedly pay huge dividends for both Edelman and this offense as a whole.
