New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is known for being one of the hardest workers the game has ever seen, and this offseason, he took a new approach to his training regimen, which involved putting on some weight.
You wouldn't think a guy in his 40s would be trying to gain weight, but this exactly what Brady has done over the last few months:
“I wanted to get a little bigger this year and put on a few more pounds and try to absorb the hits a little bit more,” said Brady, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN. “I worked pretty hard at that.”
Brady, who is listed at 225 pounds, turns 42 years old this weekend, and he says he is thrilled to still be playing the game of football in spite of being at an age where NFL players are already typically retired:

The future Hall-of-Famer is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which many had written his obituary due to some second-half struggles, but he still managed to throw for 4,355 yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 65.8 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 97.7 en route to his 14th Pro Bowl appearance.
Oh, and he went on to win his sixth Super Bowl title.
