The New England Patriots have made some changes this year at the wide receiver positions with Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola heading elsewhere. The team was forced to retool Tom Brady's arsenal and so far their efforts haven't gone as planned with New England recently parting ways with veterans Eric Decker and Kenny Britt.

Brady recently talked about the team's struggles with finding the right players at wide receiver. The five-time Super Bowl champion admits it hasn't been easy, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

“Certain things haven’t worked out the way we would have hoped and players would have hoped, but that’s football,” Brady said.

At the moment, star tight end Rob Gronkowski is the only real go-to guy in the passing game. Gronkowski and Brady have been one of the most potent one-two punches in the NFL, but now there are limited threats downfield with only Chris Hogan making some noise as a potential target for the future Hall of Famer until Julian Edelman returns from suspension.

Brady also admits the decisions made at wide receiver aren't his own. He does his job and lets the coaching staff and front office handle that aspect of things.

“I don’t make those decisions for our team. I don’t go in there and tell them who I want,” Brady said. “My job is to play quarterback and whoever’s here that’s who I have to make it work with.”

With the team parting ways with Decker and Britt, it'll be interesting to see if New England decides to add to the receiving corps before the regular season or sticks with their current group. Veteran Dez Bryant is still available on the open market and would be an ideal downfield target for Brady, but the team doesn't seem to be interested in bringing him in. That may change if they start to struggle when the season gets underway next month.
