With Tom Brady's future with the New England Patriots in doubt, everything he says and does over the next month and change is going to be heavily scrutinized.

Like when he tweets, for example.

On Thursday, Brady took to Twitter to post a cryptic photo of a silhouette of himself walking in the tunnel of a stadium with the football field in the background. It's hard to tell if he is walking toward the field or away from the field.

This sent fans into a frenzy, but on Friday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter calmed the waters by saying that Brady's tweet was not related to his football future.

That certainly won't stop people from speculating.

Brady is set to be a free agent this offseason, and there has been a whole lot of chatter that he could potentially leave the only NFL franchise he has ever known.

The 42-year-old is coming off of a 2019-20 campaign in which he threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 60.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 88, missing the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2008 — when he played in just one game due to a torn ACL.

The Patriots did manage to win their 11th straight AFC East division title, but they failed to lock up a first-round bye and ended up losing to the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card Round, marking their earliest playoff exit since the 2009-10 season.

Get ready for a whole month of constant conjecture once the Super Bowl concludes.
