Julian Edleman is about to share his unique story in an equally unique way.

The Patriots' receiver is the subject of Showtime's new documentary “100%: Julian Edelman” which will premiere Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET. The documentary will chronicle Edelman's recovery following his torn ACL that kept him out of the 2017 season along with his PED suspension and, of course, New England's 2018 campaign that led to Edelman earning Super Bowl LIII MVP honors.

There also appears to be some moments that shine light on his family and personal life during his unconventional road to the league.

“This story, it kind of is a microcosm of my life,” Edelman told WFAN's “Boomer and Gio” show on Tuesday, via WFAN.com. “Always having to battle, never being the No. 1 guy, never being the No. 1 draft pick, the guy that everyone's looking at, this, that, having to go the long road, dealing with some adversity and kind of just battling yourself mentally because that's some of the hardest stuff when you're hurt as an athlete.”

Tom Brady, Snoop Dogg, Michael Strahan, Deion Sanders, Mark Wahlberg, Bill Burr and Dave Portnoy will all appear in the documentary in some form, which is narrated by Michael Rapaport.

No, it’s not conventional. But neither is Edelman, an undersized college quarterback who worked his way into becoming perhaps the most reliable receiver Tom Brady has ever had. The tone and style of the film is appropriate for the subject. It’s sometimes intense, more often lighthearted, occasionally cartoonish, and pretty easy to like, at least if you’re a Patriots fan.
