The New Orleans Saints have won four games in a row and now roll into a big Week 7 showdown against a very good Chicago Bears team. This should be a competitive game and the Saints are actually 3.5 point underdogs. Vegas has that line wrong though, and the Saints should be the favored team, so let's breakdown the four key reasons they will win their fifth game in a row.
4. Mitchell Trubisky
All signs are pointing towards Mitchell Trubisky getting the start for the Bears, and I think that is a very good thing for the Saints. The hope for the Bears was that Trubisky would turn the corner this year and before his injury, it didn't look like that was the case. He played three full games and only threw touchdown passes in one game.
He hasn't thrown more than 231 yards in a game and the Saints pass defense has been really good all year giving up only 237.7 yards per game.
If Trubisky can't go it will be Daniel Jones who gets the start and he looked terrible against the Oakland Raiders in the last game. No matter who gets the start, the quarterback position is a big weakness for this team.
3. Saints are comfortable winning in low scoring games
There is one big change for the Saints team this year, they have a much better defense, which means if it's a low scoring game they have a chance. The last few years the Saints have needed to win shootouts to win games which has put a lot of pressure on the offense.
In the Saints last game they only scored 13 points, and were able to win and a few weeks ago against the Dallas Cowboys they only scored 12 points and came away with a victory.
There is a good chance this game could be low scoring, and that actually works in their favor.
Article Continues Below2. Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas
The Bears have some nice players, but they don't have players as good as Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas. When Teddy Bridgewater took over for Drew Brees there was some concern there would be a downtick of production for these two.
Kamara has been dealing with injury but he has still had success and Thomas hasn't skipped a beat. In each of the last three games he has caught at least eight passes for 89 yards.
The Bears defense is good but they are still going to have problems slowing these two down.
1. Teddy Bridgewater
There was some major concern when Teddy Bridgewater took over to lead the Saints and it did take a little time for him to get adjusted, but he is playing some very good football right now. Since taking over as the starter he has thrown for 1,089 yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions.
He is starting to push the ball more downfield and his mobility should be key against a very good Bears pass rush. He is the better quarterback in this matchup and is the biggest reason the Saints will come away with a key win on Sunday afternoon.
