One of the New Orleans Saints' most important running backs in Alvin Kamara was doubtful to play in the lead-up to their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, head coach Sean Payton may have young running back available after all.

Adam Schefter confirmed the news many Saints fans expected but hoped would have happened sooner.

It's good for Payton's offense that Kamara will be available to play against the Jaguars as it puts the Jaguars defense on edge. He's a superb running back who's blossomed into a key player for the Saints this season.

He's having a great season for the Saints so far. He's carried 75 times so far and is set to exceed his rushing attempts last season. He's notched 345 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown to go with his 241 receiving yards and singular receiving touchdown.

He's performed at a terrific level that he will be a nightmare for opposing defenders to guard. Even his head coach was caught off-guard by his level of play. Saints Wire's John Sigler recounted his surprise at Kamara's performance.

“Better than I thought he was,” Carroll replied, when asked for his thoughts on Kamara. The Saints running back led the Saints in rushing yards (69) and receiving yards (92), and gave the Seahawks defense fits all day long. “You could see he has a style about him that you need to see in person.”

Since he's ready to play, there are no questions that specific plays will be called for him. And if he performs to his expected standards, then the Jaguars are in for a long game.
